Born in Lawrence, I enjoyed my few years there in the 60s. I went back to visit several times over the years, but in the mid 90s, I wouldn't have dared get out of my car.

Hessville, Ind. a burb of Gary & Hammond, which was across from Chi Town. Back in the 50s-66, when I left home after HS. NO jobs for a short kid, who Gates put out of a Sec. career.

Same here. Much worse now. I thank God my parents moved to the boot heel of Illinois small rural town of 5K.
